A number of people have asked me why I have created this website, rather than write a book. There are quite a number of reasons –
- Publishers are reluctant to publish low-volume books these days;
- This is understandable (albeit lamentable) as the market for such a book would be very limited and unlikely to make any profit. Most would likely go to public libraries further reducing the reader market.
- A book is much less accessible to the general public than a website, which can be accessed from all over the world, and I want to bring the story of Queensland’s naval forces to as wide an audience as possible.
- Websites, unlike books, can be readily updated as new information comes to hand.
Having said that, there are a number of relevant publications that visitors to this website might enjoy.
This page will eventually be updated with opportunities for further reading.
