1886
During March & April went through a torpedo course in Sydney.
Mar 4 – Told I was appointed to “Gayundah”,. joined March 15
July 6 – Sailed for a long trip north.1887
May 5 – Court Martial on Hesketh)1888
Sept – Given charge of all Machinery
Oct 25 – Captain Wright deposed.1889
Feb 11 – Received Commission as Staff Engineer.
June 28 – Thursday Island in “Gayundah”1892
Sept 30 – Ship and all hands paid off – divided Mess fund.1893
Feb 4-6 River in flood.
(Feb) 11 – Sent for to join ship.
(Feb) 17 – Again sent to ship.
Oct 19 – Put on unattached list.1898
Jan 10 & 11 – Sent by Capt Almond to “Paluma” at flood time till.. ?
Jan 14 – Engines in very bad order. Hard job.
